Why it tastes different
Roasted in-house Tuesday, on your doorstep Friday — never older than 72 hours.
Beans leave our volcanic-stone cellar in the Central Eastside Industrial District no more than seventy-two hours before they reach your kitchen counter. We roast on a 12kg Loring Smart Roaster, then cup every batch on the same day with one of our nine Q-Grader certified cuppers.
Every bag carries the farm it came from. Not a region, not a blend name — the actual farm, written in the same letterpress we have used since Ana and Mateo opened the original Portland café in March 2014. You will see Finca La Esperanza, Al-Mokha, Kayu Aro, Gedeb, Huehuetenango, and twelve other names each year, from fourteen direct-trade partners across Ethiopia, Colombia, Guatemala, Sumatra, and Yemen.
